Habitat for Humanity 2007-08

The Habitat Youth Build will take place on the following weekends: March 1/2, March 8/9, March 15/16 and April 5/6. Students, faculty and parents from U-High, Catholic High and St. Joseph's Academy will participate in the build with us. The hours of the build are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Sundays. Students/Parents may work the entire day or can work one of the two shifts: 8 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. or 1:00 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The location is in the new Rosewood subdivision. The address is 2536 Rose Garden Drive. Take Bluebonnet or Siegen Lane south to Burbank Drive. Go right on Bluebonnet, then left onto Eleven Drive. Follow Eleven Drive until you enter the new Rosewood subdivision. Please part at the end of Eleven Drive and walk toward 2536 Rose Garden Drive.) Habitat for Humanity of Greater Baton Rouge is the ONLY organization building in this subdivision. There will be secured parking.

We need parents to volunteer/chaperone on each of the 4 weekends. Please e-mail me at: sms7857@aol.com if you are interested in chaperoning/participating. We would especially love help from any "construction-savvy" parents. Participation in the Youth Build will count toward service hours per Renee Chatelain, Cornerstones coordinator.

Episcopal is to provide a small breakfast, a midmorning snack, lunch and an afternoon snack for workers on Saturday, April 5. (We'll be feeding approximately 80 people). We will be providing an afternoon snack for workers on Sunday, April 6. We need bulk-sized donations of individually bagged snacks, granola/cereal bars, bottled juice, water and canned soda. Please e-mail me if you can provide any of these items. I'll have a collection day at school the week of March 31 to collect these non-perishables.
