Episcopal sophomore Emmanuelle Rollo was one of three national
grand prize winners in the Moment Magazine Essay Contest for high
school students. She won $500, and her essay will be printed in
the April issue of the magazine.
The contest asked students to
address the topic “What can be done to prevent
future genocides?” Essays were judged on the quality of argument and the
creativity of ideas.
Rollo is a co-founder of the Darfur Club at Episcopal. The
club educates students about the genocide in Darfur and raises funds to help
victims of the crisis.
