Three teams of Episcopal fifth-graders placed first, second
and third in the region out of 118 teams in the spring Stock Market
Game, which is
sponsored by the Louisiana Council for Economic Education.
Episcopal’s
teams were the only lower school students in the region competing against
high school students.
The first-place team of
Krisann C., Ian M., Bruin B. and Carrie I.
won T-shirts and $100.
The second-place team of Leo P., Alana
V., Benjamin H. and McCraney B. won T-shirts
and $50.
The third-place team of Alexis H., Jordan S.,
Anna S. and Nicholas L. won T-shirts and $25.
According
to The Stock Market Game website, the program reinforces skills
in math, language arts, social studies, critical thinking,
decision-making,
cooperation, research and economics.
