Episcopal’s Concert Band and Wind Ensemble both earned Sweepstakes trophies at the District Band Festival at Woodlawn High School on March 28. The award is based on earning superior ratings, the highest rating possible, for concert performances and sight-reading.

The bands are directed by Paul Taranto.

Members of the Concert Band are: Hannah Park and Jenny Craig, flute; Haley Johnson, oboe; Britton Tempton, Alex Darden, Sarah Seger, Chelsea Pottschmidt, Camille Coleman, Chad Ferguson, Austin Hodges and Morgan Logerot, clarinet; Jourdan Puyau, bass clarinet; Ben Stage, contra clarinet; Adam Grenier, William Dickinson, Marshall Watts, Gabe Leupin and J.L. Lewis, alto sax; Trey Bacon, bari sax; D.J. Wyatt and Jesse Goodman, tenor sax; Nick Bierman, Colin Baldridge, Kevin Pohlig, David Bruner and Ross Wafer, trombone; Hunt Hearin, Chris Ostman and Michael Guidry, euphonium; Jacob Gunter and Guy Watkins, tuba; Christopher Sanderson, Kenneth Leu, Jacob Hobbs, Andrew Donald-Davis, Matthew Johnson, Wills Collier, Trey Maughan, Joseph Howe and Alex Chapple, trumpet; John Bruner, John-Paul Grenier, Devin Tempton and Ricky Sheldon, French horn; Tyler Hartung, Nicholas Easterly, Kevin Nissing, Annie Ballard, Matt Lewis, John Gaudet and Scott Stinson, percussion; and Robert Stewart, string bass.
