Episcopal students earned four first-place awards at the Mu Alpha
Theta state convention April 6-8 at the Holiday Inn Select in Baton
Rouge.
Irene Huang earned first place in the Algebra II Event and
fourth place in the Individual Algebra Test. She was the Top
Algebra Cipherer.
Stephen Cassidy earned first place in the Statistics
and Probability Event, and Lindsay LeBlanc placed first in the
Differential Calculus
AB Event.
Chris Hobbs placed first in Descartes (Calculus AB)
and eighth in the Calculus AB Individual Test.
Other individual
award winners were: Stanley Chen, third place, Calculus BC Individual
Test; Nikhil Helferty, fourth place,
Algebra II Event; and Bret Wilson, fifth place, Calculus
BC Individual
Test.
The team of Jessica Ferreyra, Kenneth Leu, Stanley
Chen and Bret Wilson placed third in the Calculus BC Team Event.
Ali
Zamin,
Nikhil Helferty, Beau Downey and Irene Huang placed sixth
in the Algebra/Geometry
Team Event.
In the Gemini Team Event, Stephanie Bayne
and Chelsea Gidden placed ninth. Stephen Cassidy, Michael Bujol,
U.J. Santiesteban
and Trey
Miller placed 10th in the PreCalculus Team Event.
Episcopal
also placed second in Scrapbook, second in the Algebra/Geometry
Interschool Event, second in the
Quality
Sweepstakes, fourth
in the PreCalculus/Calculus Interschool Event and
eighth in the Overall
Sweepstakes.
