Episcopal sophomore Trey Bacon earned a scholarship to attend
the National Student Leadership Conference on Intelligence and
National Security in Washington, D.C., June 18-23.
While attending
NSLC, Trey will have the opportunity to study and develop the skills
and traits that define and identify a leader.
During the conference, students attend special workshops and classes
where they study the distinctions of leadership.
Past guest speakers
have included Supreme Court justices Anthony Kennedy, Sandra Day
O’Connor and David Souter, former Secretary
of State Madeleine Albright and former Attorney General Janet Reno.
The
NSLC mission is to identify and recognize outstanding young leaders
from around the world, and to provide them with a unique
learning environment that encourages not only academic achievement,
but also diversity, cooperation and social responsibility.
