Episcopal senior Sara Paccamonti was elected national first vice-president
of the National Junior Classical League during its annual summer
convention, which was held June 26-30 in Richmond, Va.
Her duties include working with state and local JCL chapters to
increase membership and publicity, as well as planning next summer’s
convention. Some of Sara's goals for
her
year in the national office are to promote publicity activities
during National Latin Week in the spring and to update promotional
materials for the national organization.
She also will attend a number of other states' conventions during
the year.
Sara served as state first vice-president for the 2003-2004
school year, during which time she created an informational brochure
about JCL
to distribute to students and teachers who were not members.
As a result of her work, the Louisiana chapter scored
highly in both the membership and publicity contests at National
Convention. Episcopal also scored in the top 20 individual schools
in the National Publicity Contest.
The Junior Classical League is an organization of more than 50,000
Latin and Greek students in the United States and several other
countries.
