Tryout Information |
| Mother/Daughter
Meeting - There will be a Mother/Daughter
meeting, Wednesday February 13th at 6:00
PM in the Alumni House. Information will
be handed out regarding tryouts and requirements of
the team. |
| Tryout
Clinic Dates March 31-April 3.
5:30-7:00 location TBA. During the clinic you will be
taught a dance routine which you will be performing
in front of the judges in groups on the day of tryouts.
Other areas that will be judged are splits, kicks, toe
touches, turns, and leaps. |
Tryouts April 6th
2:00 in the Girls Gym.
Members are selected based on the natural break in scores.
Judges will consist of three UDA professional judges.
Tryouts will be closed to the public. Only the judges,
sponsor, co-sponsor, and departing seniors will be allowed
in the room. All departing seniors will be assigned
duties during tryouts.
Those who make the team will be announced on the Highsteppers
website as soon as possible after tryouts. Print out
a sample Judges
Score Sheet for information on scoring. Teacher
Evaluation forms will also be included as part of your
score. |
| Summer
Camp -
June 8-11th Private Dance Clinic at Episcopal! -
If you make the team you will be required to attend
the summer dance camp to be held in June. |
| Tryout packets containing
more information will be available in the Middle &
Upper School offices after the Mardi Gras Holidays. |
| Meetings: If you make
Highsteppers there will be a few meetings held a few
weeks after tryouts so we can prepare for the next year
as soon as possible...those meetings include the following
below. |

| Team meeting
- Tuesday, April 8th,
3:30-5:30 , Perkins 212 (vote for chaplain,
historian, pick big/lil sis, review uniforms, and other
form handouts.) This meeting is mandatory and may take
up to two hours. |
Mother/daughter
meeting - Wednesday,
April 9th, 4:30-6:30, VPAC Dance Room/Band Room. During
this meeting you will be fitted for uniforms and will
receive more information on camp and other fees. This
meeting is mandatory and may take up to three hours. |
