Episcopal Baseball

The Episcopal Baseball Program was started during the 1990-91 school year. The Program has come a long way since that 4 - 19 opening campaign.

Since that inaugural season, the Knights have made 14 straight playoff appearances. In 2004, the Knights' Baseball Team posted a 29-10 record and won their 3rd straight district championship and claimed their first STATE CHAMPIONSHIP!

The Knights compete in District 8-2A, which is always considered one of the top districts in the state. With over 30 kids in grades 9-12 competing for playing time, we offer a varsity and junior varsity team. Each year the varsity schedule consists of 24 playing dates, which includes 4 tournaments. The junior varsity has an 18 game schedule and a jamboree.

Over the last few years, the Knights have played teams from all across the country...Oklahoma, New York, Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, and Texas. We travel as well as host these schools in any given year.

Our baseball facility is considered one of the finest in the state. Check out the facilities section of this site.

We have been fortunate enough to have had a few players come through our program who have gone on to play at the next level. Chris Pike (1995) signed with Bellhaven College, Courtney Hernandez (1996) was a catcher for LSU, David Stockinger (1996) played at ULL, Stephen Kirkpatrick (1999) pitched for the University of Mississippi for two years and pitched for Millsaps College his last two years, Ladd Legendre (2002) was the school's first Division 1 baseball signee when he signed with Louisiana Tech, and Ronnie Causey (2004) signed to play with Millsaps College.

Baseball season begins in January and ends the second week of May. Practice is held daily after school for about two hours. The entire team is required to participate in a weight program during the season and in the off season.
