Every season each player, along with his parents, signs this
contract as a committment to the program. I used the player contract from
the Barbe High School Baseball Program and the team covenant from the
Parkview Baptist Baseball Program, and altered them to fit our program.
EPISCOPAL BASEBALL PLAYER'S CONTRACT
The foundation of the Episcopal Baseball program is based on three C's
COMMITMENT,
CHARACTER, and CONFIDENCE. The commitment to excellence includes character,
which leads to confidence.
· I will always try to be the best I can be in the classroom as
well as on the baseball field.
· I will conduct myself with class as a person as well as a player.
· I will adhere to the Episcopal Code and all that it stands for.
· I will not use profanity or inappropriate language.
· I will not use any form of tobacco product, alcohol, or drugs.
· I will be on time and dressed properly to every practice and
game; and inform my coaches if I am unable to be on time for any team
practice or game.
· I will always keep myself busy at practice
I can always
improve some part of my game.
· I will strive to be a complete player by taking the necessary
repetitions needed to execute the fundamentals of baseball on a daily
basis.
· I will accept constructive coaching to make myself a better player.
· I will never question lineups or coaching decisions.
· I will be a student of the game
there is always something
I can learn during practice or a game.
· I am willing to work every day to improve our baseball complex
and to help with any field maintenance.
· I will not become satisfied with individual or team performances,
but always strive to become a better player, person, and team.
· I will practice positive thinking and mental imagery (visualization)
to give me an advantage over my opponent and make me a better player.
· I will play every game like it is the last game I will ever play
no
regrets!
· I will not put myself above the team.
*I understand that our baseball team is like a family, and confidentiality
is a very important part of our team. What is said and done on the field
is to stay on the field...everyone should be treated with respect.
· I will always try to live by the "Golden Rule"
treat
others the way I want others to treat me!
I understand to be a member of the Episcopal Baseball Team I must
be willing to make these commitments, have good character, and be confident
in the program and my abilities. I also understand that only nine players
can start and play at the same time on the Varsity and J.V. Teams. I will
accept my role on the team with a positive attitude whether I am a starter,
role player, or never get to play at all. If I feel that I have been treated
unfairly or am unhappy with my role on the team, I will discuss my feelings
as soon as possible at an appropriate time with my head coach. It is my
responsibility, not my parents, to discuss any problems concerning the
team. No meeting will be set up with any parent until a meeting between
the player and coach has taken place.
If I am unable to accept my role on the team and conduct myself as
a team player, then I will no longer have the opportunity to be a member
of the Episcopal Baseball Team and I will turn in my uniform to Coach
Counts!
By signing this contract, I, (Print Name) ______________________________,
agree with and am willing to make these commitments to myself, teammates,
and coaches to be a member of the Episcopal Baseball Program.
